Disy Informationssysteme GmbH (Disy) is a software company founded 1997 in Karlsruhe / Germany that has in the meanwhile about 65 full-time employees. Disy is specialised in ambitious data-analysis and data-management tasks for large organisations, in particular for public administrations (national, state, district and municipal level), and mostly in the domain of environment data (water management, waste management, air and noise monitoring, nature protection, etc.) or in environment-related application domains (agriculture, forestry, traffic, etc.). Disy is the market leader for environmental reporting solutions for public administrations in the German-speaking countries.
Disy products and services bridge between classical GIS (geographic information systems) and data warehousing / reporting solutions, by the integrated processing of factual data and geo data. Disy products and solutions rigorously apply the principles of Web-based and service-oriented software architecture, consequently use open standards and data formats (OGC, W3C, ISO, etc.) and aim at a maximum ease of use for the end user. Disy solutions realise or are part of modern Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), often oriented towards European reporting directives, like SEIS, INSPIRE etc.
In addition to the computer expertise, domain knowledge is brought into our projects by Disy’s interdisciplinary staff (computer scientists and software engineers, geo informaticians, civil engineers, geo ecologists, geographers, etc.). As a spin-off of the Karlsruhe academic community and with many years of research experience, Disy is also oriented towards coining funded research results efficiently into marketable solutions and services.
In the iWaGSS project, Disy is responsible for the Work Package:
